Automated reporting and data automation for operations teams

Automated reporting uses AI agents and data automation to pull figures from your systems, reconcile them, and produce the regular reports your teams rebuild by hand each week or month, with a plain-English summary of what changed. It also covers the data entry and clean-up behind those reports, so the numbers are consistent and ready when people need them.

Vermilion Intelligence is an AI and automation consultancy helping mid-to-large organisations in Australia and New Zealand put AI agents to work on repetitive tasks.

Reporting and data work we automate

If someone in your team spends the start of each week or month exporting spreadsheets, pasting figures, fixing formats and writing the same commentary, that work can be automated, so skilled people can spend more of their time acting on the numbers instead of assembling them.

Agents can also spot what a person might miss at the end of a long report run: a missing feed, a figure that doesn't reconcile, an unusual movement.

  • Regular management reports

Weekly and monthly reports assembled from your systems in your existing format.

  • Data consolidation

Combining figures from finance, CRM, operations and spreadsheets into one consistent view.

  • Reconciliation and checks

Comparing sources, flagging mismatches and highlighting missing data before reports go out.

  • Commentary drafts

A plain-English summary of what changed and why it might matter, for a person to review.

  • Data entry and clean-up

Keying, standardising and de-duplicating the records reports depend on.

  • Scheduled distribution

Sending the right report to the right people, on time.

  • Alerts

Notifying owners when a figure moves outside the range you set.

How it works

How it works

  1. Step 1: Map your reports

We list the reports, their sources, their audiences and the manual steps behind each.

  2. Step 2: Fix the data flow

We connect the sources and standardise definitions so figures agree.

  3. Step 3: Automate and explain

Agents assemble reports and draft commentary; a person reviews before distribution.

  4. Step 4: Monitor

Checks run on every report, and failures are flagged rather than hidden.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do we automate business reporting?

Start by listing the reports you produce, where each figure comes from and the manual steps involved. Then connect the source systems, agree consistent definitions, and automate the assembly and checks. AI agents can add a drafted commentary on what changed. A person still reviews the first runs and any report with flagged issues.

Can AI write the commentary in our reports?

Yes, as a draft. An agent can describe what moved, by how much and which areas drove the change, in plain English. It can't know the context your managers know, such as a delayed shipment or a one-off deal, so commentary should be reviewed and added to by the report owner before it's shared.

What if our data is messy?

Messy data is normal. Part of the work is standardising definitions, cleaning up duplicates and fixing the inconsistencies that make reports hard to trust. Agents can help with that clean-up and keep data tidy afterwards. The readiness assessment tells you how much preparation is needed before reporting can be fully automated.
